Mar 21st, 2023It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday
This is an easy drinking Merlot from Napa Valley. Spicy and tangy.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Showing black and red fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf and chocolates.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins.
A good everyday wine. Good by itself or with food, and will probably be better in a year or two.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 2 hours of airtime.
I paired it with light appetizers and had it by the pool.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
88 points.
$30.

May 27th, 2022Needs to breathe before drinking. Tastes a bit alcoholy if you drink it right after opening. Hints of currants and plum. Very little aftertaste. Overall a smooth, pleasant merlot.
