Had this at a tasting at a big box wine store, in a word, Pass, but here goes! Ruby with red fruit aromas and heavy spice notes. On the palate tart raspberry flavors with harsh herb and pepper spice. Tannins were grainy, high acidity overpowering on its medium finish and ended a bit spicy. Tasting Sample.

I have to admit, this go around is an improvement from the last time I had tried a bottle of the 2012. Floral and herbaceous on the nose, following a distinct zingy white pepper. The pallet exhibits tart raspberry jam notes, underripe strawberries, cloves, black tea, minerals, and a gripping finishing tannin. For sub $15, this is a pretty flavorful wine coming out of the Bio Bio Valley. Drink now through 2022.

On the nose: oak and roses! also noticing strawberry and cherry. Very aromatic. Can’t unsmell the roses now.

On the palate: Nice classic pinot noir with medium body and medium acidity. The red fruits really shine on the palate with a smooth finish.
