Altero Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Needs decanting 1 hour before serving.

Really quite beautiful now. Do love the Altero but was worried that this might be a bit aged at this point. Beautifully integrated and balanced. Opened up after just 10-15 minutes in the decanter.

Beautifully perfumed and silky textured mouthfeel, but this probably needs another few years. Tannins were still a bit too tightly wound to let the wine really shine. Will be holding the other vintages for longer.

Oak well-integrated. Tannins chewy but soft. Nice acidity. Probably could've waited a few more years.

I love this wine. Great fruit, tannin, good length, medium body on the 2004. Delicious.
