This 2009 has plenty of fruit-heat-oak spice integration. The wine focuses on bringing Barbera into a richer presentation and accomplishes it with integration but still perhaps a bit of layered on spice. The nose is dark and floral w a fresh rain water front. On the palate a first hit of fresh walbut turns to exotic spice with red fruit and bright acidity. This wine has a great back of the tongue tickle and ultra long finish.

Nov 22nd, 2012Piedmont, Italy - over ripe, juicy blackberries, blueberries, and dark cherries and plums. Full bodied texture. Notes of cloves and cinnamon. Great with BBQ, lamb chops and/or cheese. Smooth and wonderful fruit.

Apr 10th, 2015A little more fruit forward than others I've tasted. Not bad, actually tasty but the mouth feel and acid are not where I like. Will know better after a slice of the porcini rubbed roasted pork and ra piñon pizza....
