Poderi Di Carlo
Collio Ribolla Gialla
Star bright straw gold. Shy nose eventually yields straw and yellow apple. Echoed on the palate with lime and grey minerals. Medium light body and medium plus acidity with a medium straw-like finish. I get the other reviews as it’s fairly simple for an RG, especially if one’s first was of the Gravner mold (as mine was). Still, this is not a bad wine. Crisp and, when consumed at a warmer-than-typical-American temperature, it has a slight complexity that is very satisfying. There’s no one style of any variety. Keep an open mind and enjoy with contemporary Italian cuisine as I am.

Jan 10th, 2018Like others, this is not the ribolla anyone is used to, this is much lighter, less body, and more intensified citrus tone. Enjoyable, yet not the best wine back from the wagon!
