The Colla family's 2018 Barbaresco Roncaglie packs quite a punch in its deceptively medium-bodied frame. A burst of cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, herbs and dried cherry fruit makes a great first impression. The 2018 is going to need a few years to soften. Very austere. Tart cherry, menthol, orange peel, spiced tea, roses and creosote. Huge tannins. This bottle showing some VA, but it enhances the aromatic complexity. This baby needs some time.

2007. Black Cherries, plums, red cherries, and other red fruits. This is a very fruit driven, acidic wine that's drinking in the beginning of its prime. Delicious.
