Nov 22nd, 2014Lot of Syrah went down tonight. On the table of about 7 West Coast Syrah, this one was definitely the most fruity. Black fruit, plum, fig throughout the front and middle. Finishes with some spice. More of a baking spice with a hint of black pepper. Hardly any funk on this wine whatsoever. This wine is dense. Full-bodied. Fair amount of tannin on the finish. When consumed alongside an herb braised pork and some hot cherry peppers, this wine kinda dies. The Walla Walla Syrahs push back!
