I first tried this at the winery in Alba , Piedmont at the Pio Cesare Winery about 8 years ago, when I bought a dozen. Strongly encouraged by our tour leader, Peter Scudamore-Smith MW who bought a few bottles from my dozen. Scud compared it to a good Premier Cru Chablis style. On this tasting it was showing oxidised notes - also orange peel and almonds. Barb liked it more than I did. I felt its best years were behind it. Drink the last one by the end of the year.

Oxidised slightly giving Sherry like notes. On the medium bodied palate, creamy with ginger notes - sweet and long. Bought this on a trip to Piemonte a few years ago hosted by Peter Scudamore-Smith MW where we had a tasting at the Pio Cesare winery in Alba. Scud was taken by this Cuvée likening it to a good Premier Cru Chablis. It has filled out in the mid palate in the 3 years since. I’m a bit worried for the 3 remaining bottles and that oxidation. @Peter Scudamore-Smith MW

Consistent notes from previous tastings of lime and grapefruit with subtle oak. Interesting to try a Chardonnay grown in typical red grape growing regions of Barolo and Barbaresco. More Chablis than Puligny in style.

Very Lemony and mineral on nose and palate. An elegant style with little or no oak influence. Very unlikely to come from the New World. Finishing with a touch of bitterness which does not detract. Would be great with Oysters.

First tried this at the winery in Alba 6 weeks ago and was so impressed I ordered a dozen which was received recently. Limey grapefruit nuances.Minerality. Fruit (understated) and oak in perfect balance. An excellent modern rendition of international Chardonnay. Faint caramel notes from the oak. Excellent with seafood but can be drunk on its own. If blind would not pick as Italian.

2013 vintage. Fresh, Hint of grapefruit Superb minerality. Lovely acid with a 10+ year future. Excellent. Could be a Grand Cru Chablis. Amazing value for 30 Euros. Superb.
