Sipping Fine Wine

Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. Dark Ruby with fresh fruit aromas and fragrant spice. On the palate cherry and pomegranate flavors with lively acidity, great mouthfeel, fine tannins with overall good balance. Lingering finish ending with fruit and spicy notes. Nice value.

Dolcetto d’ Alba. Yes, the local’s wine. A great value at most wine stores. Upon opening the nose is too earthy - yes, I said that - smelly - but it then opens up into a nice fruity bouquet…amazing transformation to complement a balanced medium body perfect tannins and acidity smooth leggy wine so easy to drink. Classic Dolcetto from a legendary producer. Don’t be afraid to buy it…drink it every day…(yes, Harry, it’s about a 90 or 9.0) and a very pleasing rendition by an Italian - Alba - master wine producer (don’t say “Caesar”, say “Ches-eray”).

Full bodied Italian. However, it was still tart and funky.

Bit thin and dissapointing. Sandrones basic dolcetto is heaps better than this. Lacks the stuffing present in many 2015 bottlings
