Love this producer and love this wine though this bottle needs some time to settle down and better integrate the oak. Pretty slathered in vanilla and clove. Fruit is ample and tannins are ripe and soft. Just needs more time.

Beautiful bottling from Pinuaga (their Gran Reserva offering: single vineyard, old vines, ancient clone of Tempranillo). In a perfect spot with nine years of age. Lots of sun baked red fruit, cola, figs, bbq sauce, hot stones and more on the complex nose. Lengthy finish of black licorice and mint. Really excellent for the $25 I paid a few years back.
