Not a big brunello drinker but this was very tasty. I remember soft structure, dark fruit preserves like blackberries and plums and figs, some mocha and cloves.

A vibrant cherry red in the glass with little traces of violet. Intense, beautiful nose. Starts off with dark cherry and blackberry aromas early but soon brings in the earthy notes. Dried grass, moist earth, and gravel all over this. Cedar and mocha jump out at you. Just a wonderfully flawless nose.

Yes, it’s young. Yes, you should probably wait. No, I will not. Drinking splendidly right now. This is exactly what you want from a good Brunello, the combination of power and elegance. Full bodied with firm-ish tannins and high acidity. But still so reserved and graceful.

The palate closely follows the nose with more of those cherry and blackberry notes, along with some stewed plums and just a hint of sun dried tomato. Mushrooms and moss stand out with leather and tobacco are really nice here. Spice and cedar on the long, splendid finish. Drink this now. Go buy a bunch and drink them every year.
