If you tasted me blind and told me this was a villages Nuits or Vosne, I’d go along with that. This incredibly fine and detailed Pinot starts out with aromas of blackcherries and boysenberry, then follows with a classic Burgundian “hard candy” palate of identical flavors. What it doesn’t do is turn broad, coarse and balsamic in the way so many Hautes Côtes reds do. Sensational.

Great affordable Pinot Noir by small domaine/negociant in Chevannes (Hautes-Côtes de Nuits ). Bright red fruit, forest floor. Delicious, easy to drink.
