Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2023 Chassange-Montrachet 1er Cru “Abbaye de Morgeot” pours a pale straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of freshly struck match, green apple, star fruit, Meyer lemon, white flowers, gentle warm spices and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and mineral laden. Brilliant stuff with a long life ahead. Just, wow. Drink now through 2048.

Apr 18th, 2026Oh my god that nose. Melon, beeswax, floral, spice, going in and out of closed. Finding its focus. A fierce rocky minerality as well. But needs more air. Palate is just absurd. Unreal density but also plumpness. Super textured and like an icing on the cake and the most insane restrained richness and grip. Concentrated and so so deep. Unreal balance, purity and finish. Nose is heaven. Just so ethereal and not a hair out of place. Crazy inner mouth aromas. Perfect fruit capture. Unreal freshness and acidity and it leaves your mouth in a state of vinous arousal. Juicy and nimble. So engaging and the juiciness is just stunning and the standout characteristic for this wine. I swish so hard and there is no hair out of place. Palate is insane 24 hours later. Mineral blast, sick purity, iodine and saline. Sweet minerals.

Meyer lemon. But omg the florality. Beautiful discreet oak. Framed so perfectly. Like a filmmaker framing a shot. This nose is 9.9. It’s that easy and that good. Wow. That is concentrated and so deep. Candied and elegant with a superb core of sweet fruit and sweet wood. Impeccable balance. Superb intense and scintillating minerality. More mineral than 18. About as mineral as 19. As this airs the harmony of the nose becomes greater and greater. Wow this is dense and intense. For a wine that is this structured it is graceful a f.

Oct 14th, 2021First taste of Brisset 19’s and starting BIG. Ahhhh that nose. Gorgeous lemon oil, super discreet oak, sea air like minerality, just so airy and expansive. Unreal clarity and depth. Elite. Super elite. 9.8 nose out of the gates. It’s been open 5 minutes. This man is a god amongst men. Stunning. Balance and purity on this is ridiculous. Concentrated and no hard edges. None. Oh my this is elegant. Elite elegance and chock full of minerals. Structured, deep, salty and saline. Luscious and round. Killer acids but so well integrated. Round and chewy and really very complex already. Such a long finish with lime zest, green apple, flowers and extreme minerality. So sad Pierre made so little. This seems more young and backwards than the 2018 at this point. Will be back as it airs. The elegance and no hard edge quality signals this is the 1% of Burgundy. As it opens it becomes more compact and just a single unit of brilliance.
