Got an unreal price on this bottle and thought it would be bad. I came away impressed, very typical Howell mountain with earthy, smoke, oak tomes. Not as complex as other wines from the mountain but still good. Beat price value Howell ever has!

Second time trying out this wine. Definitely seems like a wine that is 20 years old not 12. Slightly cloudy in appearance and garnet red with bricking on the edges. Lots of vegetal notes on the nose accompanied with aged dark berries. Aged as in they seem a little tired and worn out. Soft berries on the palate with moderate tannins (5/10). Body is definitely thinning out, light plus at the most. Slightly sour with a moderate finish. Drink now, might be past its prime.

Displaying intense earthy/herbaceous notes along with dried red fruits on the nose. Dark purple with a slightly opaque hue in the glass while showing decent amounts of sediment. Palate is still concentrated and dry with a nice balance of soft fruits, acidity and softened tannins with a medium finish. Drinking well now but the fruit is fading, maybe 3-5 years.
