Look, I don't want to exaggerate, but this wine pretty much ruined our lives. My lover was screaming about black licorice and while I hate black licorice flavour as much as the next guy with functioning taste buds I was generally okay because as far as I could tell there was no black licorice on the palate. Meanwhile, our dinner guest said something about drinking gasoline ("say petrol, darling") and, like, yes there were some notes, but it wasn't as though we were drinking straight from the pump at the local Shell station.
Anyway, in the end I think I managed to salvage most of my relationships. 8.5.
