Fancy, heavy bottle. Nice artwork. Dark, deep color. Blood at the blood bank dark red. Smells ok. Fruits and soils. Hint of wet granite. Flavors are balanced and very dry. Just kind of muted. Not ‘extra’ on the fruit-forward side like many Malbecs, but just plain red wine. Nothing jumps out at you. It’s a likable and very drinkable, bottle. I guess with ‘High Altitude’ I was dreaming of a little something more.

Kinda a dramatic label. Excellent rendering of rocks. Very dark color. Kind of that classic deep maroon of the beefy Malbecs. Smells dense and juicy. Berry danish. Or is that a blueberry 🫐 donut? Flavors are chewy and complex. Spice with a hint bitter skins of a balanced plum. Has plenty of sagebrush and fall dry leaves. Balanced, full bodied and woodsy. This is a very nice Malbec. Maybe it’s the altitude.
