Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, vegetables, pencil lead, tar and black tea.
Medium plus in finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 5 year old Argentinian Malbec surprised me as I did not expect it to be as good as it was. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Spicy with a tangy ending.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show tannins, but it was drinkable right out of the bottle too.
I had the 2013 vintage as a 3 year old, but it wasn't ready at all. Now it is delicious. This one needs patience...
100% Malbec grapes are grown on Rocky soils at 3,200 feet elevation. Aged in oak barrels for 8 months.

Totally non commerical malbec. Old style. Tobacco, tannin, huge spice, raw tire mid palate. A bit young and austere and out of whack now. But fucking good

Deep purple with little to no rim variation. Dark plum, huckleberry, anise on the nose, dark, ripe, fruit flavors, a little chocolate, medium tannin, full body, low acid.
