Coonawarra Cabernet-Merlot Blend
Mid to deep ruby red. 65% Cabernet 35% Merlot so the minty Cab influence from Coonawarra not as noticeable as usual. A detuned Cedary nose with red and black fruits. On the palate smooth and supple - seamless with largely resolved tannins. My last one of 6, but if I had more they would last another 5 years +. A very good wine made by Brian Croser.

Nov 22nd, 2018Notes of dusty mulberries and blackberries - also olive. A beautiful balancing act of 60%Cabernet Sauvignon and 31%Merlot and 9% Shiraz. Very different to the 1996 Moss Wood had recently because of the Merlot in the blend. Good density and concentration. A class act.

Aug 31st, 2017Initially a subdued nose with a whiff of coconut oak. This was very good 8 years ago. Still has cassis aromas but the fruit does not seem as pronounced. Medium intensity palate and length. On release the pundits said a 20 year wine. A good wine but I think it is fully developed and best drinking now till 2020.

May 11th, 2017Crimson in colour. SA Cabernet aromas of black fruits turning a little savoury at 18 years. Finally the tannins have settled down and are now fine and dry. A quality Cabernet but not overly complex.

Mar 4th, 2017A wow wine when first tasted 5 years ago when the delicious cassis, black currant fruit was more prominent. More savoury dusty leathery notes now 11 years down the track. A very harmonious balanced Cabernet (65%) Merlot (35%) blend from an excellent vintage in Coonawarra. Will cellar for another 5 to 10 years.

Apr 4th, 201581% Cab, 15% Shiraz, 4% Merlot.
A supremely balanced blend, the room for improvement over the next decade excites me.

Still standing tall! Amazing Bordeaux blend from one of Australia’s preeminent wineries! Very balanced, great forward fruit and a super-long finish! Had with aged beef - to die for!!

Apr 10th, 2020Cigar box & sage with dusty red fruit, a bit of funk and oak coming on later as it breathes and continues to develop. Still carrying itself well after all these years, framed nicely by acid & integrated tannins. A happy surprise opening from Steve @WhiteboxWinery
