“Good shit, here.”
I’m not normally a California Pinot fan but Anderson Valley is an AVA I can make an exception for. This Navarro offshoot is a prime example of what Cali pinots can do when done well: low funk and high amounts of fruit. Baked blackberry pie and cloves/other baking spices. Medium weight but a long lingering finish.

Holding up well. Can't wait for the 2016 vintage.

Great Pinot noir! Not too dry or tarty. I agree with the pros: cloves, blackberry! Yum! Paired well with my homemade chicken chili on a cold night! Happy new year!

Jan 3rd, 20212010 opened June 2019. I uncorked the bottle and I immediately smelled mint and sage from several feet away. Normally I don’t much care for wines with green leafies is on the nose, but I can taste the secondary fermentation in the tannins — which is gives it a nice soft buttery mouth feel. Faint fruit (raspberries) on the front of the pallet with a pleasant puckery tannic structure at the top of the palate. Smooth the rest of the way down. I’m not a fan of Alexander Valley Pinots, but this is very pleasant. Not a great wine, but very drinkable.

Jun 19th, 20192016 opened Feb 2019. Unripe cherries and mint on the nose. Strawberries on the front, with an inoffensive tannic structure — smooth but slightly puckery — and a somewhat mineral finish. Better than your average Burgandy, but a middle of the road Pinot for California.

Interesting Sauvignon Blanc from small Anderson valley producer that also makes some tremendous cheese. More full-bodied than most and sweeter on the tongue than I typically like. Nice with spicy food.
