“Good shit, here.”

I’m not normally a California Pinot fan but Anderson Valley is an AVA I can make an exception for. This Navarro offshoot is a prime example of what Cali pinots can do when done well: low funk and high amounts of fruit. Baked blackberry pie and cloves/other baking spices. Medium weight but a long lingering finish.

Holding up well. Can't wait for the 2016 vintage.

2016 opened Feb 2019. Unripe cherries and mint on the nose. Strawberries on the front, with an inoffensive tannic structure — smooth but slightly puckery — and a somewhat mineral finish. Better than your average Burgandy, but a middle of the road Pinot for California.

Interesting Sauvignon Blanc from small Anderson valley producer that also makes some tremendous cheese. More full-bodied than most and sweeter on the tongue than I typically like. Nice with spicy food.

Great well balanced, fruit forward Pinot. Nice price point at $39 as well. Enjoyed with salmon, squash, and homemade pasta.
