Love this Shiraz. Very drinkable with a tiny bite at the end but it doesn't linger. Great with chocolate.

Perfect AU wine, big bold yet easy drinking, very jammy. I love getting bang for my buck.

Outside our normal price range but worth it. Incredibly smooth.

Tonight, I'm drinking Penfolds' Thomas Hyland Shiraz. This beauty is a strong one. Deep, rich, gloriously provocative with plum, black raspberry, black pepper, a slight smile at the corner of the mouth, and a full body with all it's boom and swagger, short skirt and a long jacket, black cherry and a touch of dark chocolate and the promise of pleasure. The flavor is a kiss that is reluctant to leave your lips, instead it teases you by tickling them with its fairly mild but still persistent acidity and its long finish. An absolute delight for the nose, this Adelade Shiraz has a bouquet that's rich and jammy, like a sweet diner breakfast at 2am. After a couple glasses, you shift to a low gear and become ready for anything, tannins that are like silk, smooth to the touch and tempting to drape oneself in it, if given the chance.

It seems weird call say something has a burnt taste and it mean something good, but it's true of this. Costingmore than most, the owner of the store on Church Street in Bohemia told me I havent tasted Shiraz until I've tasted this. He said this company usually makes $100 or more bottles of wine but this is their least expensive. I decided to pay $6 more for a bottle smaller than the others. I'm only 10 sips or so into my first glass. Cork. This is a different taste. More concentrated taste. Makes the others seem watered down. A sip is enough and you want to hold it in your mouth to preserve the taste rather than swallow it and waste it. I hope this doesnt spoil me.
