I just made a tasting note of this lovely old Tawny Port and as I was submitting it it disappeared. Very frustrating. Aromas of smoky toffee. A lovely mellow complex palate with no hard spirit edges although it clocks in at 19.5%. A great way to finish the Penfolds Collection dinner.

A spectacular tawny! Nutty and toasty vanilla nose with prune, fig, raisin and nut palate. Perfect finish to the evening meal.

Dark cherry wrapped in spicy vanillin oak, a gorgeous Tawny and a drink to be savoured. A few splashes may make it into my blending barrel. #christmas in a bottle.

Deep tawny colour with roasted walnuts, figs, plums, caramel and vanilla on the nose. Luscious, unctuous full body. Very sweet but balanced beautifully by a refreshing acidity that keeps it from becoming cloyingly sweet. Walnuts, pecan pie, crème brûlée with fig jam and dark plums in the mouth that end with a lingering vanilla finish that keeps going for a long time. Sweet velvet in the mouth! Superb with Stilton.
