One of the better examples of Sangiovese outside of Italy I've had. You can be sure it's not from Italy but a third cousin. Doesn't have the sweet & sour cherry fruits. Much darker fruits with elegance.

There is a Barossa trademark in its rich, plummy and dusty earth aromas, while the well-balanced palate exhibit a more varietally recognisable idea apart from the alcohol-infused finish. Rustic and interesting wine worthy of attention.

So taken by surprised. All of the range was so lean and tight. This is rustic as f*ck! Definitely my favourite of their range. Well balanced palate with some surprisingly grippy tannins. Mixture of bright red fruit; currants and cherry mostly through to juicy plum. Underlying earthiness.

Wow. Interesting astringency here, it goes on and on everywhere in your mouth without being overpowering. Nicely balance and what a lovely long finish!
