2008 was the first ever vintage of Bin 150, a Cuvee even to this day not seen often at Penfolds tastings. Chief Penfolds winemaker, Peter Gago said it best when he said, “A definitive Penfolds style based on Grange-quality vineyards and central Barossa terroir. “ When you reflect that most of their best Cuvées are multi regional blends, the Bin 150 from Marananga is somewhat unique. My notes for this wine - Rich dark red and black fruits. The Penfolds stamp of Choc/Mocha - an aristocratic nose showing the product of aged vines and excellent terroir. Will still be drinking well in the 2030s but is thoroughly enjoyable right now.

Sep 26th, 2026A rich dark crimson in colour. A smoky creosote mocha aroma - plenty of charred oak. Sweet black fruits on the full bodied palate with blackberry and black cherry. A very Penfolds Barossa red. 2008 is the first vintage Penfolds made of the Bin 150. Marananga being a sub district of the Barossa and a noted source of old vine fruit. Typically, this is a pup, at 13 years of age and will cruise to 2030 and probably beyond.

Jul 15th, 2021A big full bodied wine by any measure. Lots of lush fruit and lots of oak. Supple tannins. Went well with Beef Casserole but probably more a winter wine. 17+.
