Pecci Celestino
Poggio Al Carro Brunello di Montalcino
Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyWarm scents of nutmeg and cloves on the nose. Just a hint of fruit on the front (pomegranate?). Medium-light tannic structure. Earth notes on the mid-palate. Strong finish of mineral and acidic high notes that resonate on the back of the throat after swallowing.
Its rough edges mellow an hour after being opened turning it into a comfort wine that would compliment roast beef or roast pork. Not particularly great as a standalone tipple, though.
