This has not aged well. Smells of wormwood, cheap black licorice, and a touch of dog poop. With air, softened to reveal cherry.

Rich, dark fruit. Came around with a good 40 minute decant. Would visit again in 5 years.

Love me some pax. This Grenache blend is pleasant. Medium body with higher acidity. Brunt raspberries on the pallet with some eucalyptus? Refined finish. After 30 min open, it all calmed done and rounded out. I would bump my score to 92+pts. Pax Mahle yum

Love what Pax has done over the years. I have a few bottles of his 2003 Griffins Layer... It's a beautiful wine that is probably mind-blowing at this point; however, this wine shows restraint, refinement and a sense of place. Looking forward to owning a bottle in a few years.

Dark cherry, cola, and sandalwood. Swings from strong fruit to minerally gravel to a spicy finish.

Nice bottle. A little disappointed. Time could be its friend though. We shall see.
