One of the best wines I have had this year and certainly the best domestic Syrah. Everything that Syrah can offer is here in full effect and well integrated. Black olive, bacon fat, and green peppercorn spice. The alcohol is modest, preserving the acidity. The finish is beautiful with extremely fine-grained tannins, and spice notes that linger.

Always a favorite for me (site in general) from Mr. Mahle whether the good old days of 15+ alc CNDP style or the newfound "elegance".

Pax and Punky are back. 2010 vintage. Deeply rich with earthy fruit and spice.

This was sublime. Massive extraction that time has turned into something elegant. Deep rich black cherry and currants. Lucious mouth feel with a hint of acid left. I thought this may have gone over the hill, but man is it fantastic. I’m a lover of Pax wines and this was no exception.

Paired nicely to roast pheasant with mushroom duxelle. Drinking well at nearly 8 years of age. Little funk, lot of green olive.

So excited to learn recently they were making wine again. Signed up for the list immediately. Awesome showing for this Griffins Lair- ham, pepper, tart black cherry, and cedar. Love the acidity. Still has a long life ahead.
