Pax Mahle Wines
Griffin's Lair Sonoma Coast Syrah
Love the leather, tobacco, menthol , eucalyptus character. Texture is fantastic and doesn't show any heat

From the good ol' (gutsy) days of Pax.
There's always been a lot of talk about IPOB vs. Big/Bold and I've never really understood it....
My own cellar is quite "deep" and able to fit different moods.
This specific wine is high alc, ripe while well balanced and just tasting amazing at age 12...so why choose to be only in one of the camps?

2004 Vintage. 3/4 of the cork came out with the lever pull leaving about a half inch in the neck. A mess to remove but got it. Used a decanter filter to pour glasses. Not corked, but second day after argon blanket overnight was best.
