Unwrapping gifts 2/3. Is this Pinot Noir? No nose, sour in a bad way, short revival with overripe strawberry on the mid palate, no finish. From a liquorstore that has shops on every streetcorner. A disgrace to the name on the label. It's not cheap either. The fact that I got it from a good friend (without a clue about wine) is the only positive remark that I can make.

There is grassy thing on the nose, along with kiwi, guava and lemon. It's pretty tropical and fruity. There is a bit of a chalky thing too, lurking in the back. The palate is showing great acid drive, but there is some nice, soft mouthfeel, almost pillowy. There isn't much flavour on the palate. A bit of kiwi, a bit of lemon, it's pretty subtle and refrained. It's all about texture. There is a bit of grip in the rear and a lemon peel note pops up in the finish, carrying a tiny bitter touch. It's not the greatest Sancerre I ever had, it's well made, a bit middle of the road but making for a great pairing with a raclette.

Flavors of orange, melon, guava with hints of slate. A touch too much acid for me. Went OK with raw bar but would've preferred a wine with more minerality.
