Nose has sliced early season cherry, freshly cut hay field, dry chalk, cold raspberries and orange zest.

Palate has dried raspberries, ripe tart cherry, warm sourdough bread, moist limestone and orange peel. A very fun wine, 2020 vintage, the first we've had not a Nouveau!

Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, the youths (mostly college)! Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading one operatic work from WAGNER (Die Walküre, Act II & III). This is our WAGNER weekend with the BSO, Act I was performed last night.

Nose has cold red raspberry, green melon peel, sliced red cherry and mashed yellow cherry. Palate has red raspberry jam (light), under-ripe red cherry, minor limestone and fresh orange peel. Would like to try this again with 2-3 years age.

Very drinkable, light Rosé, with a hint of grapefruit. Nice acidity with a little sweetness. Beautiful pale rose gold color.

These '17 Sancerre rosé are screamingly good. Here's yet another example of how good. (I've never before experienced salinity in a Sancerre rosé. I have now. Fascinating.)

2015 vintage to kick off the summer. Well rounded with beautiful balance. Will definitely buy more.

Others seem to love this wine, but I find it very tart and acidic. That written, it does mellow a bit with some time in the glass. I don't usually decant rosé, but this one is an exception, as it is greatly enhanced with some turbo twirling, breathing, etc. A little tight for my taste, but it nonetheless worked well with this plate of summer vegetables (okra, green beans, and tomatoes) served up in a near perfect setting - Beaufort, NC's Rhum Bar at Stillwater! Check it out!
