Deliciously dry / cleansing acidity - the back label didn't lie!

It would of been rude not to celebrate International #GrenacheDay right? I've had some awesome Grenache rosés in my time so I thought this Grenache and Mourvèdre rosé blend would be the perfect way to kick off the celebrations. I picked it up for $33 from DeVine Cellars on Beaufort St in Inglewood.

The grapes 🍇 for the Paul Nelson Maison Madeline are soured from the Ferguson Valley in WA's Geographe region. It's a dry rosé made in a South of France - Provence - Bandol style.

It's a subtle peachy-salmon colour in the glass. The nose has hints of savouriness mixed with raspberry/cranberry and a squeeze of fresh lemon. In the mouth it's elegant and delicate with juicy red fruits and a touch of candied anise. Thoroughly enjoyable #yeswayrosé

I haven't come across Paul Nelson before so this bottle of 2015 'Mason Madeleine' Rosé made from Mourvèdre & Grenache grapes sourced from WA's Ferguson Valley) really intrigued me. On the eye it's a gorgeous rose gold colour with lemongrass, watermelon and lychee on the nose. Those similar flavours come through on the palate with a well-structured and elegantly balanced character. It finishes on a lovely savoury note with hints of grilled oranges. The bottle run out way too soon!

I received this bottle as part of the Summer Rosé 6 Pack thanks to Vine Collective. You can grab this pack or one of the other mixed packs for 20% off when you use the code word 'travellingcorkscrew' -> http://vinecollective.com.au/product/category/mixed-cases
