Sadly, the aroma is nondescript. Medium body with plentiful legs. The flavor is understated with a hint of red fruit on the fore palate, a bold acid hits the mid palate that is reminiscent of blood orange. The longer the bottle breathes, the louder the tannins roar in between the lingering finish of leather and unsweetened cocoa. The flavors may be subtle enough for a pope but too subtle for our palate. (celebrating 32 years together with grilled steak & sautéed mushrooms, baked potatoes, asparagus, & pecan pie)

Easy to drink, affordable Châteauneuf du Pape. Kirsch, raspberry, and some herbs. Ripe and high in alcohol on the palate, similar to Spanish Garnacha but less oxidised. Not overly complex but very enjoyable.

Intensely dry, signature CDP fruit, but alcohol shows a bit too much on the palate for my taste. Not terribly complex, but simple, alcoholic fun.
