Cuvée Papale Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Better on Day 2. Abundant red fruit, some smoked meat, bacon, garrigue...tremendous value for $25 and better than previous three vintages IMO. This is a testament to the strength of the 2015 vintage.

This is always an overachieving CdP.

Drinks like a pinot good flavor light bodied, after a day tasted more fuller/ medium flavor

Quite a bit of Brett but still fun

Needs about an hour in the glass before gaining some body; then it starts to show some character.

High alcohol even by CDP/Grenache standards, so much so that it overwhelms the fruit. It's just ok, and I don't think it will necessarily get any better with age.

Leathery cherries.

Awesome for the price point

1/2022. Goo full bodied Rhône with a nice touch of spice. Paired well with the grilled eye of chuck steak.
