Paul Jaboulet Aîné
Domaine Mule Blanche Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

2017 vintage. I am less familiar with Jaboulet's whites, but this is excellent. Hard to find the right information on this wine, apparently a 50/50 Marsanne Roussanne blend. The back label states it's whole clusters fermented partially in egg-shaped concrete vats, whereas some critics mention wood-fermentation. In any case the wine is drop-dead gorgeous. Captivating nose with ripe yellow prunes, flowers and brioche. Concentrated with layers of white stone fruit and more exotic hints of pineapple, fresh herbs and an impressively long aftertaste. They say wines reflect the owner/winemaker. In this case I believe Caroline Frey can live with the adjectives "intense", "complex" and "graceful". Well worth the price tag
