Much darker color than the Beaucastel and it seems a little younger than I would have thought, with the mint and lactic edge I expect from Jaboulet in that era, and ample fruit, though it dries out a little on the finish.

Lovely integrated palate but still quite closed on the nose - pepper, forest floor, and plumb skins. Deep purple colour with hints if bricking. Needs serious decanting time or 10 more years in the cellar... A bit of a surprise!

Leather, meaty, smoky aromas and flavors, great acidity, still some lovely red fruit flavors, seems mature, but drinking just beautifully tonight!! (And yes, that’s the original $13.75 price I paid!!)

Medium ruby, mature, sweet fruit notes, on palate fully mature but nice balance and length, simply lovely older northern Rhone Syrah!
