2011 vintage. Marc Humbrecht is the 13th generation winemaker of this small Alsace estate ( 6 hectares under vine). This 11 years old Gewürztraminer from the Steinert Grand Cru vineyard is simply stunning. Intense perfume of lychee and rose petals. Obvious residual sugar (the back label indicates a 4 out of 6 sweetness level), that beautifully balances out the typical spicy bitterness of this grape variety. It is layered, complex and very long. If you like lychee you will love this one!
