Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Good wine. Expensive, but very nice

So young, so purple, needs time for the fruit to catch up to the tannin.

Second wine of the evening. Dark, highly extracted in the glass. Nose of bramble berry and smoke. Transitions to plum, cherry fruit and carnations. Soft finish with a dash of spice. Decanted twice.

Powerhouse Cabernet from Paul Hobbs 2012.

Magnum. 1.5hr+ decant. Dark purple color. Still young. Blue and black fruit dominate. Hints of spice, earth, and oak throughout. Medium plus depth. Just my style for a Napa Cab!

It doesn’t really wow me like other Napa wine about same price. I open this few years ago, definitely taste like artificial chemical ( bubble gum flavor) . Now it taste little better but probably more like $40/ bottle not $100!

Napa Valley offering has delivered. Really good now! Better than earlier in the life of this 2012!
