A super exciting, multi-dimensional wine! Deep ruby, garnet color; exotic black fruit aroma, with a complementary nudge of oak, berry-scented; medium bodied, firm and well built on the palate; dry, medium acidity, well balanced; complex flavors of red and black fruits, lots of flavor interest; medium finish. One of the great Pinot Noirs in the state, needs more time to gain further complexities. (Best Served: 2019-2027) [Composition: 100% Pinot Noir] [Winemaking Highlights: Multi-yeast fermentations (wild & cultured), 15% whole clusters, 100% malo-lactic fermentation in barrel; 65% new Burgundian French oak barrels; bottled without fining or filtration] [Production: 684 cases] [James Hall, Winemaker]

Tasted along side the 2014 Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and 2013 Durant and Booth Pinot Noir.

Solid ruby red. Herbaceous nose with red berries and a touch savory on day one. Day two opened up with some sweet spices, earthy notes and dark currants. A bit harsh on day one on the palate with tart strawberries on the attack, a savory undertone and steely finish. Day two the tarty notes disappeared and brought on some more savory notes and red berries. High lingering acidity (7/10) and medium bodied. Medium plus finish. Needed the second day to become more integrated. Give it a nice decant if drinking now. Drink till 2023.

Bright red fruit and cinnamon fill the nose. Give the sense of fall and 🍂 autumn. The mouthfeel has a slight alcohol burn, then the fruit hits. Smoke, candied apple, mocha and cherry run the entire course. The finish gives a slight tug from the acidity that reveals spice, nutmeg and clove.

High extraction on this vineyard, nice cherry and small berry notes, the nose just tells you Sonoma is home. It is still firm on the second day. Patz and Hall is really shining on these 13's.
