This is not just freaking fantastic. It’s approachable NOW! Chewy and jammy with tons of smoked meat and pencil shavings. Great structure; the tannins are not overpowering. Got it for under $30 at Costco. A steal. Stock up.

pope wines are getting increasingly sweet and pretty. this is a good example. too sweet! soon we are going to have to look to gigondas alone. :(
