I loveeeeee this. So soft and round and delicious. Very light for Oregon, but in the best way.

Perfect balance with vibrancy; earth, fruit, and tannin come together and honor the great legacy of a master sorely missed, rest her soul, Patty Greene! Now this is tremendous example of the heights an Oregon Pinot can reach!!

Apr 9th, 2019Durant was one of the most impressive samples when we tasted at the winery last week and this vintage from bottle is just as impressive. Spritzy as is often the case here so needs a good vigorous shakeup before drinking. Then comes across exquisitely refined pretty much right away - no time needed to compose itself structurally or mellow out the primary fruit; in fact the material is already more vinous than fruity. It has the freshness and wild berry zing of youthful fruit but the outer layer is fully transparent, so instead of the usual sweet/glossy veneer of a young pinot this is sporting a rosy inner perfume and a crushed stoniness that would almost be Corton-like if it weren't so gentle and refined.
