A wealth of fruit, the secondary notes beckon with time but I am not complaining. Red fruit and a certain slick stone forward are what get me to the haunting notes of pastilles: lavender and licorice. The finish goes on. On flipping onnnnn. Pairs INSANELY well with Republique’s zaatar-spiced cauliflower. I thought the mushrooms in cavatelli would be it but no. Taste with the zaatar of the cauliflower.

Really not OK for this vineyard. Band-Aid, quite tannic. Lime. Bark.

Wild and animalistic. For sure not something i would expect from a GC. The guests liked it but mostly i think for the GC label. The wine needs tons of air. But it tends to be overoxided before the limited flavors comes through. And i just can’t ignore that. For sure no match at all for an E&M big boy not even close. Pretty harsh tannins, orange rind and essentially almost no fruit.

Just OK on day one. After 2 days on my Argon line. Cardamom, Allspice, forest notes, tannins integrated, black tea, orange rind and dark cherries. I prefer the Suchots from the same vintage. Over all i don’t think that Pascal Marchand did a good job in 2010. I am surprised that he did not better with Grand Cru fruit in a good vintage. May be picked too early? 13% .
