This is a very nice Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley.

Spicy and tangy with red and black fruits, oak, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, wood and licorice.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate.

Lighter than I expected with a nice mouthfeel.

Nuanced. Perhaps the lightest bodied Zinfandel I’ve ever had. Gorgeous aromas of baked dark fruit tart with subtle floral notes of jasmine and gardenia. Delicious.

Zinfanot...a wonderful subtle Zin that doesn’t taste like a Zin. Creme brûlée.

Heavy French oak but expected spice still there. Drinks a bit more like a cab but winemaker’s notes say it’s the “Pinot drinker’s Zin?”

Dark ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide, red rim.

Intense nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, acetone, light oak, vanilla, licorice, green vegetables, asparagus, metals, spices and black pepper.

Medium plus in body, soft and elegant, with medium plus acidity and great looking legs.

Fruity on the palate and dry, with blackberries, figs, cherries, strawberries, cloves, licorice, toasted oak, cola, vanilla, spices and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins and spices.

A good quality Sonoma County Zinfandel, but I expected more bang out of it. I like my California Zinfandel to be big and powerful, and at this price range, it needs to make more of a statement.

Nonetheless, it is well balanced, smooth and elegant with a thin mouthfeel.

Zinfandel isn't usually where I head, but this was nice. Not too much pepper
