Dark ruby color. Aromas of tart red fruits (cherry/cranberry/raspberry), dried violets and wet soil. Same fruits on the palate with hints of black tea, dried herbs, balsamic vinegar and flint. Very tertiary and savory. Medium finish and very fine chalky tannins. Bone dry and medium bodied. Best with food. Interesting, different and quite good.

Tasted in 2014: Lovely aromas of violets, red licorice, tart berries, and earth with hints of sage.

Fruit forward Piedmont wine. Dried Black cherries. A bit more tannin than expected for "simple Dolcetto" which I think is a good thing. Relatively short finish but very good for the price. Enjoyed with calzones.
