A rather intense ruby red color with little light purple flecks and a wide brim. A classic nose featuring dark red fruits starts things off nicely. Dried figs, black cherries, and plums. A good amount of oak and pepper permeate throughout with some nice faded roses to boot.
An iron fist in a velvet glove. Plenty of power here but it’s enveloped within a graceful package. Well integrated fine tannins and medium acidity. As time goes by, the complexity and balance show well. Incredible structure in the traditional Brunello style. As big of a wine as this is, it never gets out of hand or becomes too hedonistic.
The customary cherry notes are all over the palate and never quit. Some really nice leather shows up along with more oak. Anise, underbrush, and smoked tobacco all have their say. A really nice, powerful Brunello.
