I can smell the wind, the sun, the stone buildings of Spain in this well made of straightforward Rioja. This 2006 is just coming into it’s given that it may have been fruit forward in its early life. I prefer the crianza from this same wine maker, the reserva goes down enjoyably easy.

Color of dark red with bright purple on the rim. Nose is oaky, plumy, vanilla beans, a bit coffee, cinnamon, spice, and even a bit menthol. Taste of subtle yet plenty of acidity, low tannins, raisins, oak, bittersweet, spice like black pepper. Overall she has the flavors somehow but nothing really stands out as a wow.

Deep Ruby red color and full bodied with a nice smooth rounded mouth feel. Red cherry and oak notes leading to a short peppery lightly tannic finish. Delicious, easy drinking uncomplicated wine with some nice age on it. Very good value.

Classic Rioja. This one is smoother than most of the more earthy ones. Love it. Wine Spectator's 93 points well deserved, and at 16 bucks, what an outstanding value!

Overly fruity and sweet oak for my taste, but should be a crowd pleaser.

Got lots of leg, dark ruby red color, and aromas of ripe cherry, spice, and earthy herbal.

PnP’d. Better than the last bottle, but unless you can go back in time 5yrs, this one is done.

Not good. Either too old, a bad bottle, or bad wine. I’ll say a combo of all three.
