Painted Wolf Wines
The Den Cabernet Sauvignon
Medium bodied cab, with almost more minerals than fruit. Very interesting; in a blind tasting I would probably guess this was a Chianti. Also, Napa cab lovers are going to be disoriented. Lol. I think this wine would pair very nicely with a hearty meal. Thank you Stacey for the introduction.

Jul 27th, 2019I’ve been really enjoying being able to try so many South African wines through The Wine Gallery recently. This #thetcwineclub pick (https://travellingcorkscrew.com.au/wine-club/) is a 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from Paarl made by The Painted Wolf 🐺 Wines Pack.

These minimal intervention winemakers have had their wines served in business class on South African Airlines and they also support a good cause:

“As you ‘paint your palate’ with this wine, you are making a contribution to the conservation of this rare and endangered animal.” - being the South African wild dog.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the glass this South African 🇿🇦 Cab is a ruby red shade with a toasty nose full of black currants, herbs and a hint of caramel. Juicy fruits come through on the palate, balanced tannins (dryness), a hint of tobacco and a good fruity acidic finish. Pass over the luxury steak 🥩 and blue cheese 🧀 sandwich 🥪 please!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine

Really refreshing after dinner. Lots of acid and zip!

Aug 28th, 2016Just another red. Not as smooth as I prefer. The tannins are a little over powering needs more aging.
