The deep ruby/purple '00 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red showed significantly better than it's Merlot sibling. Smoky cedar-laced aromas of blackberry, red raspberry, earth and black licorice were prominent. Sweet firm tannins provided an elegant structure to this balanced effort. Nice acidity on the smooth lengthy finish.
