Dark red. Pungent, floral- and spice-accented aromas of dark berries and incense are lifted by a smoky mineral quality. Sappy and broad on the palate, offering gently sweet blackberry and cherry cola flavors and a touch of peppery spices. The floral and smoke notes come back strong on the powerful finish, which clings with good tenacity and chewy, slow-mounting tannins. This brawny Pinot benefits greatly from aeration. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Dec 2016)

This is a deep and extracted Pinot that shows gobs of dark plum and black cherry fruit. The acid is very good for a 2012 wine. Did not really move me as I was looking for more nuance, but it started to sing when paired with bison meatballs with a spicy gochujang apricot glaze. The ginger in the meatballs really brought out the spice in the wine.

A little jammy and dark fruit driven for Pinot. Good but not great. Really like the Owen Roe Washington wines, this not as much

The great 2005 vintage from the Willamette Valley. From the Merriman, Kalita and Lenné Vineyards. Color a little brown, but fruit not fading. Sassafras on the nose. Still kicking.

I liked that this was a heavier Pinot Noir. Also, I really enjoyed tasting so many Pinot's at the Oregon Wines on Broadway.
