Experiment No. P4.9 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc

I love the Experiment series from Ovid, but hate that they never repeat the same blend! This is a lovely 2/3 Cab Sauv, 1/3 Cab Franc blend. Deep garnet in the glass, the nose offers florals and loads of red fruit. The palate is currants, chocolate, and some earthiness. Full-bodied and rich texture. The tannins are still quite strong on the finish so definitely give this some air...overall a delicious, beautiful wine.

Ready to go and drinking well. Beautiful aromatics.

Previous bottle required a couple of hours of air to shine, but this was ready to dance on pop and pour. Beautiful.

Age was evident

Cab Franc shines through on the nose. Drinking very well with an hour or two of air.

Beautiful red color and gorgeous nose fueled by the 25% Cab Franc. On the palate, young and a touch harsh on opening, but smoothed out nicely with air and a joy to drink on nights two and three.

This experiment was a huge success! Silky smooth beautiful texture. Yum!
