Thomas Rivers Brown is creating some magnificent wines at the top of Howell Mountain! This 100% whole cluster Grenache is a great example to add to this list. It has all of the tell-tale tastes from a Grenache...for me it is the white pepper and acidity (strawberry and tart raspberry) in a Chateauneuf du Pape kind of way! 2014 is already Sold Out...like most of their wines at Outpost.

Feb 19th, 2017Beautiful winery set way back outside of Angwin, Outpost had been winning me over as another Howell Mountain favorite. The red rocky soil creating rich, concentrated, deeply flavorful wines. This was my first Grenache from Outpost, and like their other wines, this one was memorable. 100% varietal, like all their wines, this one is spicy, racy and fun to drink. This is one of the only two wines (Zinfandel being the other) that are not sold out from the recently released 2014 vintage. This speaks to the quiet cult-like following they they seem to have. Consider me part of the cult!!
