Bright and juicy black fruit aroma - blueberry, blackberry, mulberry, cassis, black tea, and just a hint of earthy forest floor. It’s mainly primary fruit now but a bit of oak and sweet baking spice come in on a long finish. Soft elegant tannins, high acidity but very well balanced by the fruit. Very fruit forward, very new world and very delicious

I saw Mark Flesher’s 2011 O’Shaunessy review the other day and was reminded about how much I love their wines. They are hard to find out here in Florida, so when you see them on the wine list, grab them! They had both a 2015 and 2016 vintage, so we decided to do a comparison. The 2016 is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 5% Merlot, 3% St. Macaire, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Even with decanting the 2016 for over an hour, it still was too tight. Drinkable, but compared to the 2015, it is still not ready. It will be very good in time.

O’Shaughnessy delivers with every vintage. This is young of course but so much complexity and depth with a long lasting finish. Nose is beautifully fragrant with dark fruits, rose, lavender, pipe tobacco and cacao. Palate is layered with good fruit, vanilla, peppery herbs and some spice. There is some bold acidity but it is not overpowering. This wine easily competes with California big boys at over twice the price. Great stuff.

Terrific compliment to salted dark chocolate carmels. One of the best cabs we had in a while. Worth every sip.

Tried this 2012 Napa vs 2006 Howell Mtn , both were amazing wines! The 2012 needed a good 45 minutes to breathe. Once it opened Yikes. Loads of tannin and fruit in twined together. Great Body and Structure. Will last another 10 years! Great job ! This is the second of 2012 vintage of this!

Napa rendition here. Blend of oakville, Howell mtn, and mt veeder. More lush and fruity than mtn single vineyards. Plum and some tartness before the structure hits you. This is a very pleasant wine and has a softness to it that makes it easy drinking without being jammy. 30 mins of air helps blow off jam.

Lot of minerality expressed here, iron and lead. Fruit is ripe and red. Tannins have eased but acidity remains quite high. Surprised WE have it a 97, although a nice wine, seems high to me.
